Linking is not sharing

A care context is the clinic saying that a patient has a record here from a particular visit. Nothing clinical leaves at that moment. The record travels only when the patient grants consent from their own ABHA app and the network asks for it, and only within the date range and record types that consent names.

What has to be true in your own data first

• The facility is registered on the Health Facility Registry
• Each doctor has a Healthcare Professional Registry ID
• Diagnoses carry ICD-10 codes and lab tests carry LOINC codes
• Patients have a date of birth recorded, not just an age

The software reports exactly which of these are missing rather than pushing an empty record. A health record with no diagnosis and no coded medicine is worse than no record at all, because the next doctor trusts it.

The patient stays in control

Consent is granted and revoked by the patient in their own app, not by the clinic. Removing an ABHA from a clinic record does not withdraw what was already shared.
